Claude Duet can buy for a small business. Is your pricing page ready?

Anthropic's Claude Duet can buy for a small business through Stripe's Link, so the first visitor to read your pricing page closely may be an agent that won't book a demo to learn the price.

Light hero titled “Show the price. Agents buy.” beside a Claude Duet checkout panel: Confirm the item, Approve in Link and Pay by virtual card each set to High, with Talk to sales set to Off.

01 ⬩ What shipped

Anthropic's new agent buys things for the business it works for

Anthropic opened Claude Duet as a research preview on Oct 21, and it can buy for the business it works for, which makes it a buyer on your site and not only a reader of it. Anthropic's announcement, Oct 21, 2026 says it was built "for professionals and small business owners with more on their plates than they can track." It runs on a virtual machine with its own browser, so it keeps working when the owner's laptop is closed. Access starts by waitlist, with Pro and Max subscribers in the US.

The connector list in the announcement reads like a small company's stack: Gmail, Slack, QuickBooks, Stripe, Gusto, HubSpot, Docusign, Shopify. That's the owner your self-serve plan is priced for.

02 ⬩ What it changes

Your pricing page gets read by something that won't book a demo

The buying is spelled out. Duet confirms the item with the owner. Then Link, Stripe's digital wallet, asks the owner to approve the spend, and Duet pays with a virtual card. It can also check out with Shop Pay from Shopify. Before any payment it shows exactly what it's about to do and waits for a yes.

Here's my read. The first visitor to read your pricing page all the way through may be an agent, and it won't book a demo to find out what something costs. If the price lives behind "Talk to sales," the agent has nothing to bring back for approval. It reports back, and the number it does bring may be a competitor's.

Peter Yang (@petergyang) had early access and posted his take the same afternoon.

In his review that evening he called it "Most proactive out of the box" of the four personal agents he runs.

03 ⬩ What to do this week

Let an agent shop your site before a buyer's does

Most of your buyers aren't on the waitlist yet, and Anthropic says Duet can't yet show its owner its browser. The ones who get in first run small businesses, the same people a self-serve plan is built to sell to. Your buyer's AI already does the research; this one can also pay. The test is cheap. Give an agent you already use your homepage and one job: find the price, the plan limits and a way to start a trial, logged out. Watch where it stalls.

How Claude Duet paysAnthropic
  1. 1Confirms the item with the owner.
  2. 2Link asks the owner to approve the spend.
  3. 3Pays with a virtual card, so the real card number isn't shared.
  4. 4Or checks out with Shop Pay at online stores.
