Google's Connected Apps let your MCP server answer inside Search and Gemini. Log who calls it yourself.

by bryn

Google's Connected Apps Platform, in preview since October 28, lets your MCP server answer inside Google Search and the Gemini app, so log who calls it yourself. In Google's October 28 post, the build is short. You stand up a cloud-hosted MCP server, an open standard way for an assistant to call your tools. Then you register, test and submit it in the Google Connected Console. Before review, you pick Search, Gemini, or both.

Once it's live, Google says you can track traffic, latency, and error rates. Those numbers tell you the server is healthy. They don't tell you who asked.

That gap matters to a small B2B team. A call from Gemini is an agent acting for a person, much like an agent reading your pricing page. Count it the same way. On your own server, log the account if they linked one, what it asked for, and when. That's a signal, something a buyer just did, and it happened off your site. Act when a person from that company shows up. Google's console will tell you the call worked. Your log should tell you whose it was.
