Civic Launches Civic Nexus
Nexus is an AI enablement tool that provides fast-tracked AI agent access to data warehouses without compromising control.
SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 23, 2025) – Civic, today launched Civic Nexus, an engine for AI-driven workflows. Civic Nexus lets business teams ask data warehouses questions in plain English and launch authenticated workflows in minutes instead of weeks — without technical complexity and with an added security layer.
MIT’s NANDA Initiative Research reports that 95% of enterprise AI projects fail to deliver ROI. Nexus addresses one of the key infrastructure barriers: more secure, rapid access to enterprise data systems.
“Organizations should spend less time wrestling with data tools and more time using AI to unlock business growth,” said Chris Hart, CEO of Civic. "Marketing waits 10+ days for campaign launches, sales waits weeks for demo setups, and finance waits over two weeks for cost reports. We're eliminating these technical roadblocks and delays by giving teams direct access to their data and workflows— so they can work through systems, instead of around them."
Civic Nexus delivers core capabilities that eliminate traditional AI integration hurdles. The platform provides instant tool access, connecting AI agents to more than a dozen Business Intelligence (BI) tools through a single URL. Teams benefit from zero credential handling, meaning they never touch customer passwords or API keys. The solution maintains guardrails for security policies with on-premise deployment options.
While most companies in the MIT survey tried to build their own tool, the data showed that purchased solutions delivered more favorable results. In the survey, companies that purchased tools from specialized vendors succeeded 67% of the time compared to 33% for internal builds. Civic Nexus can be integrated in seconds, in contrast to potential months of complex engineering work that many custom solutions demand.
"Fortune 50 companies spend hundreds of millions on data products with thousands of people manually pulling reports. Nexus transforms that completely. Executives will be able to get the reports they need through a simple chat interface while AI agents handle the heavy lifting," said Titus Capilnean, VP of Go-to-Market at Civic. "We're replacing expensive BI tools with something that just works, and entire business functions will be optimized, and that’s just one example use case."
Companies currently spend $500K-$2M annually on BI tools like Looker and Tableau that only analysts can effectively use, creating expensive data access bottlenecks. Civic Nexus bridges that gap by bringing all SaaS tools and data points together within an AI chat interface, adding a layer of intelligence to the data, while automatically handling authentication and authorization. Teams stay in control of their AI agents with built-in access control and guardrails.
