Walmart kept returns for orders an agent gets wrong. Write the undo before you let an agent act.

by bryn

Walmart launched a gateway for shopping agents on October 21 and kept its returns process for orders an agent gets wrong, so the undo came with the door. Here's the setup, from TechCrunch's October 21 report. Walmart's Agent Gateway is an MCP server, a standard plug that lets approved agents search inventory and buy. Agent Profiles, due next month, give each agent its own spot in a customer's account. The customer approves every order or sets a spending limit. Walmart says its returns process applies, including when an agent doesn’t act as intended. Reuters, on KSL.com, adds that agents can't reach card data and can be blocked for breaking the rules.

Permissions are the easy half. The reversal is the other half. If your agent can send an email, change a deal or book a meeting, write down how a wrong one gets undone. Then write down who notices, and how fast. Then turn it on.
