What is an authorization?

An authorization is your permission for Civic Nexus to access a specific app on your behalf. This allows your AI assistant to work inside that app for you.

How do authorizations work?

  1. You connect an app to Civic Nexus.
  2. You approve what Nexus is allowed to do in that app.
  3. Nexus securely stores that permission.
  4. Nexus can now use the app within those limits.
  5. You can remove access whenever you want.

How to authorize an app

  1. In Civic Nexus, choose the app you want to connect. You’ll be redirected to that app’s sign-in page.
  2. Review the permissions being requested.
  3. Once approved, the app is connected and ready to use.

How to view or remove connected apps

  1. In your account, go to the Authorization tab to see a list of apps you’ve connected.
  2. To remove an app’s access, select the app and click Remove Authorization (trash can icon).

What permissions am I giving when I authorize an app?

Permissions are limited to what you explicitly approve. Depending on the app, this may include:

  • Reading data
  • Creating new content
  • Updating existing content

Civic Nexus cannot go beyond the permissions you allow. You can review, manage, or revoke authorizations at any time. Changes take effect immediately.
