What is an authorization?
An authorization is your permission for Civic Nexus to access a specific tool on your behalf. This allows your AI assistant to work inside that tool for you.
How do authorizations work?
- You connect a tool to Civic Nexus.
- You approve what Nexus is allowed to do in that tool.
- Nexus securely stores that permission.
- Nexus can now use the tool within those limits.
- You can remove access whenever you want.
How to authorize a tool
- In Civic Nexus, choose the tool you want to connect. You’ll be redirected to that tool’s sign-in page.
- Review the permissions being requested.
- Once approved, the tool is connected and ready to use.

How to see or remove your connected tools
- In your account, go to the Authorization tab to see a list of tools you’ve connected.
- To remove a tool’s access, click the trash can icon.

What permissions am I giving when I authorize a tool?
Permissions are limited to what you explicitly approve. Depending on the tool, this may include:
- Reading data
- Creating new content
- Updating existing content
Civic Nexus cannot go beyond the permissions you allow. You can review, manage, or revoke authorizations at any time. Changes take effect immediately.
