What is an authorization?
An authorization is your permission for Civic Nexus to access a specific app on your behalf. This allows your AI assistant to work inside that app for you.
How do authorizations work?
- You connect an app to Civic Nexus.
- You approve what Nexus is allowed to do in that app.
- Nexus securely stores that permission.
- Nexus can now use the app within those limits.
- You can remove access whenever you want.
How to authorize an app
- In Civic Nexus, choose the app you want to connect. You’ll be redirected to that app’s sign-in page.
- Review the permissions being requested.
- Once approved, the app is connected and ready to use.

How to view or remove connected apps
- In your account, go to the Authorization tab to see a list of apps you’ve connected.
- To remove an app’s access, select the app and click Remove Authorization (trash can icon).

What permissions am I giving when I authorize an app?
Permissions are limited to what you explicitly approve. Depending on the app, this may include:
- Reading data
- Creating new content
- Updating existing content
Civic Nexus cannot go beyond the permissions you allow. You can review, manage, or revoke authorizations at any time. Changes take effect immediately.
