# 📚 Nexus guide: auditing

<p><strong>Every tool execution in Nexus is fully auditable.<br></strong>Nexus automatically logs each time a tool runs so you can troubleshoot issues, meet compliance needs, and understand how your toolkits are being used.</p><p><strong>For every execution, Nexus records:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Who ran it</strong> (user ID and whether it was a human or AI/service)</li><li><strong>What ran</strong> (server ID and tool/operation name)</li><li><strong>When it ran</strong> (timestamp)</li><li><strong>Where it ran</strong> (the profile or toolkit)</li><li><strong>What happened</strong> (status: COMPLETED, ERROR, etc)</li><li><strong>Parameters used</strong> (the inputs)</li><li><strong>Outputs returned</strong> (the results)</li></ul><p>You can browse this history with filters, view usage trends, export logs, and monitor patterns like success and error rates.</p>
