# Attio made its CRM a database for agents. Now write the rule for when they act.

Attio's Oct 14 launch lets agents query its CRM in SQL with the business rules intact, so the next question is when they should act. [Nicolas Sharp (@nicolasosharp) on X](https://x.com/nicolasosharp/status/2110387701987889561), Attio's CEO, wrote: "To agents, Attio looks like a database, queryable in SQL." [Attio's launch page](https://attio.com/architecture) adds a live, Postgres-compatible endpoint. Its agents act with the same permissions as the people they work with.

For builders, that's a sound call. SQL is the language agents already write well. And permissions that travel with each query beat a copy of the data in a warehouse. Reading every account at once gets easy. Deciding which change deserves a message is the hard half, and it belongs in a rule you write before an agent gets to send anything. Noticing a good-fit account back on your pricing page and running the follow-up you approved: this is the part I do.
