We’re still basking in the glow of our outsized presence at Consensus 2018, one of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry’s most important conferences. In case you missed it, we announced three important developments for Civic at the event:

  • #cryptobeer (announcement) – In partnership with AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, we debuted the world’s first anonymous age-verifying beer vending machine. The news was relayed through a exclusive and reached over 138M online readers in over 30 articles and 2.45k social shares. Not only was Civic the star of the show, AB InBev’s Global SVP of Innovation highlighted the partnership on Coindesk TV in a clip that has attracted over 8k viewers to date. The Civic team’s COO, Chris Hart, demo-ed the vending machine on CNN. We distributed over 1,000 free beers at the event.


  • (announcement) – Civic pre-launched ID codes, which enables trusted verified relationships between individuals and organizations. It was covered by Coindesk & The Merkle and pushed our total Consensus online readership to 153M, 3.85k social shares and 35 articles.
